Pierre Ambrogiani ( 1907-1985 ) is born in a modest family, come settle down in the old popular district of Marseille. From 1920, he is used at first on Marseille-Colbert as carrier of telegrams, then he is mailman from 1928 till 1950 in Marseille Post office . In 1936, supported by André Malraux and Louis Aragon, he is involved in the first community arts center of province creation, with his friends painters from Marseille, Antoine Serra, Louis Toncini, François Diana.

Major personality from Marseille, Pierre Ambrogiani is also Marcel Pagnol and and Jean Giono’s friend. His workshop is situated in Cours Estienne d’ Orves, close to the Vieux Port. He browses the countryside with his car which is of use to him as workshop, painting on the motive.
